Fractured Landscapes is a vibrant and immersive art exhibition that explores the tension between structure and fragmentation through color, light, and layered form. Two artists, Maria Schneider and Jeff Feeny
In this dynamic series, Maria Schneider transforms photographic images into abstract fields of color, which are first printed on paper and then brought into a new dimension using two layers of plexiglass. The second layer, laser-cut and hand-colored, creates intricate disruptions that mirror the complexity of perception and place. The front layer is etched with additional engravings and illuminated by embedded LED lights, casting shifting shadows and refracted hues that evolve as you move around each piece.
The interplay of precise technology and handcrafted detail creates a vivid sensory experience—fractured yet harmonized, still yet alive with movement. This exhibition invites viewers to engage with landscapes not as static vistas, but as living, multifaceted environments—fragmented, reassembled, and illuminated in entirely new ways.
